Elevista Lift Battery Backup
No. 1 lift backup in India!

Elevista is a series of lift backups compatible with all types of lifts. It is the only lift backup in the market with inbuilt Emergency Rescue Technology, that ensures the passengers never get stranded inside the lift cabin. While manufacturing the elevator backup system, factors such as the duration of a common power cut, capacity of the lift motor, type of elevator, whether it would be used in a residential or commercial area, etc. are taken into consideration. So with our inhouse research and development we have come up with the very innovative power backup solution for lifts and elevators.
Not all power back up systems are created equal. We have experimented with numerous different ways to ensure that you never get stranded if you have brownouts or power quality issues in your area. A typical commercial UPS is not designed to handle motor loads, and therefore we had to design custom backup systems to meet the reliability requirements of the market. Our backup consists of technologically advanced features like floor level sensing, advanced rescue technology, mains stability sense, wireless display, etc. which have helped us to retain number one position in the market.

Lift backup v/s Emergency Rescue Device/ ERD/ ARD:
Emergency rescue device (also known as ERD/ ARD) runs the lift for short duration like 30 seconds during an event of a power failure, for the purpose of evacuation of the passengers inside the lift. Whereas lift backup is a complete backup solution which runs the lift during a power failure for 2 to 8 hours depending on the capacity of the batteries.
In case of AUTOMATIC rescue device once the evacuation of the passengers is done it shuts down, you cannot use the lift until the power resumes. Whereas in case of lift backup you can continue using the lift just like you do in the presence of grid power.

Lift backup v/s desiel generator:
Diesel generator which have to run as per full load conditions thereby resulting in substantial fuel expenses, lift backup can run on partial load. The efficiency of generators reduces when running partial loads resulting in more consumption of the fuel and reduced life of the generator, whereas lift backup operate with same efficiency at all load settings and, in fact, provide higher backup time at partial loads.
Pollution level of the environment is risen and the air quality of the surroundings is reduced as a diesel generator emits hazardous smoke. Lift backup on the other hand are more eco-friendly and produce no hazardous smoke, while efficiently powering high load applications. In case of lift backup, no external source of energy is required to operate. It stores the power when there are normal power conditions and once there is power outage, the lift backup acts as an auxiliary power source. Lift backup, compared to there diesel-generators counterpart is more efficient, clean and reliable. These do not cause noise or environmental pollution.
Working of lift backup in different modes:

Worknig of lift backup in presence of grid supply:
In the presence of grid supply, the lift backup bypasses the input three phase supply to the lift panel and simultaneously charges the batteries. The inbuilt battery charger charges the batteries in 5 different stages thereby increasing batteries lifespan.
Elevista has inbuilt single phasing preventer which constantly reads input three phase supply voltage. Failure of any phase or whenever any phase voltage goes high or low - exceeding the set range the UPS is shifted to inverter mode.

Working of lift backup during grid supply failure-
In the case of power grid failure, that means when any of the three phases is absent or low, the inverter mode is automatically turned on and the lift or elevator is fed with the three phase supply generated by the inverter using battery power.
When the grid power is resumed the inverter mode is switched off automatically and the mains mode and charging of the batteries is resumed.

Worknig of Emergency Rescue Technology:
We have developed the Emergency Rescue Technology which is an automatic elevator evacuation program designed for lift backup. This technology is also known as ARD - Advanced rescue device.
With this technology the lift backup is not shut down even in case of battery low condition when the lift is in between the floors. Upon opening the doors, the trapped passengers shall exit and the lift backup will shut down to prevent any further battery drain until the power grid is resumed. When power grid resumes, the lift backup will automatically switch over to the mains mode.
Salient features of elevista lift backup

Digital Signal Processor Technology
The DSP technology ensures high speed operation of the lift backup and the purest sinewave output
Emergency Rescue Technology
ERT ensures the passengers are never trapped inside the lift during battery low condition
Inbuilt Single Phase Preventor
In the presence of grid supply Single Phasing Preventor ensures proper three phases go to the lift panel
5 Stage Battery Charger
The intelligent 5 stage battery charging increases battery life
Bypass Switch and MCB Protection
To make bypassing the Lift Backup easy - a bypass switch and MCB is provided
Elevista ADD ON features

Twin Tower Solution
Elevista lift backup can be used for two lifts using a changeover panel. After the failure of grid supply the change over panel runs one lift. When the lift is reached to the ground it is shut down and the other lift is turned on and it continues to run it until the grid power supply is resumed.
Wireless Display
A wireless display can be installed inside the lift cabin. It shows if the lift is running on UPS mode or Mains mode. It also shows battery percentage.
Extra Load Output
Extra load single phase feature can be added to the Elevista lift backup, therefore there is no need to install separate inverter for passage lights.

Single Phase Input
Three phase supply is not present in some places, therefore custom solution is needed. Elevista lift backup is customised so that it takes single phase input and supplies three phase output to run the lift.
GSM Based Alerts
For township projects the lift backup can be fitted with the GSM modem so that it sends alerts by SMS on the mobile phones of the concerned persons of each wing. Alerts like lift running on Mains or UPS, Phase failure, Single phasing or Battery status etc. are sent via sms.
Run Lift on Solar Power
Elevista lift backup can be fitted with solar modules to run the lift on solar power. It is useful where power grid failure is frequent or unstable.

Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that you may have many doubts and questions about the type and specifications of the product. Our experts have tried to answer as many FAQs as possible. If you don't find your questions you can email your questions to us. Please let us know if you find the FAQ helpful.
-
What is a lift battery backup?
Lift battery backup is an inverter that charges the battery bank with inbuilt charger when the mains is present. On failure of the mains, it runs the lift on battery bank. The change over takes place automatically.
-
What is inbuilt ERT system in the lift backup - elevista?
When the lift is running on the battery mode and the battery becomes low, the UPS first senses if there are passengers inside the lift and waits until the passengers exit the lift cabin and then only it is shutdown. Unlike other UPS elevista comes with built in ERT system.
-
How lift backup works?
When the mains fails the UPS shuts down the lift for 20 seconds and then UPS mode is turned on. When mains resumes the UPS again shuts the lift for 20 seconds and then mains mode is turned on and batteries are charged.
-
Why lift is shut down for 20 seconds every time power interrupts?
When the power is interrupted the VFD inside the lift control panel needs to be discharged completely. For this purpose a 20 seconds delay is provided.
-
If any phase of the input becomes absent, is the backup mode turned on?
Elevista lift backup has inbuilt single phase preventor (SPP). Whenever the input supply voltage of any of the three phase goes high or low or absent, the backup mode is turned on.
-
Is elevista an online UPS or offline UPS?
Elevista is an offline UPS in which inverter mode is turned on only when the mains is absent.
